Soldiers Raid Bawumia’s ADC’s Home …Traumatised Yakubu Issahaku Says He Was Not At Home

Yakubu Issahaku Raid

Reports from The Chronicle say National Security operatives raided Yakubu Issahaku's home. This happened on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Issahaku is the Aide-de-Camp to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Videos on social media show armed military personnel at his residence. They forced their way into the house in Sapeiman, Accra. The videos captured them at the main gate but not inside.

It remains unclear how they entered the house. The Chronicle could not confirm if a resident opened the gate. All doors were secured with locks.

Photos shared by The Chronicle show damage to the property. Some doors were broken, and CCTV cameras were dismantled. Rooms appeared scattered and disorganized.

Issahaku was informed about the raid by a friend via WhatsApp. He was not home during the incident. His friend reported that 30 masked soldiers entered his house.

The operatives allegedly ransacked his property, causing significant damage. They broke security doors and disconnected CCTV systems. Internet routers and hard drives were also removed without explanation.

Issahaku identified Superintendent of Police Sulemana Sule as the operation's leader. Sule is stationed at Jubilee House and operates from Blue Gate. Issahaku knows him personally, raising concerns about the raid's legality.

This incident has raised serious questions about state security actions against former officials. Similar raids have targeted former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and ex-Governor Dr. Ernest Addison recently.

The Attorney General’s Office stated that these actions aim to ensure accountability from Akufo-Addo government appointees.
