Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has apologized to Ghanaians. He acknowledged the party's shortcomings during its time in government.
Mr. Kodua spoke during Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s “Thank You Tour.” This tour follows the NPP's defeat in the 2024 elections. He recognized the disappointment many Ghanaians felt under their leadership.
He said, "To our supporters and Ghanaians who were disappointed, we have heard you." He admitted that while they worked hard on infrastructure and policies, they did not get everything right.
On behalf of the party, he expressed regret for disappointing people. He promised that if elected again in 2028, they would correct their mistakes.
Mr. Kodua assured supporters that lessons have been learned. The party plans to restructure itself to improve governance. They aim to return to power with a better approach in 2028.
The Thank You Tour is led by the NPP’s presidential candidate and outgoing Vice President. It aims to reconnect with grassroots supporters and express gratitude nationwide.
Mr. Kodua confirmed that the NPP is conducting an internal review. They intend to offer a stronger governance alternative by 2028.
