The Madina Job Center (MJC) has welcomed 120 young people. They joined its vocational skills program during a colorful ceremony in Madina.
Community leaders, families, trainers, and proud parents attended the event. The new apprentices took their oaths and began training in various trades. These include tailoring, baking, hairstyling, barbering, shoemaking, makeup artistry, and nail technology.
The MJC is an initiative by MP Francis-Xavier Sosu. It aims to reduce youth unemployment by teaching practical skills. Since its establishment, the center has trained many youths in Madina. It provides skills training, job connections, and support for starting businesses.
At the ceremony, CEO Mrs. Priscilla Naa Aklerh Plange spoke about the program's goals. She emphasized that it aims to help young people discover their purpose. "We’re giving people hope," she said. "We help them believe their dreams are possible."
The Chief of Danfa, Nii Djani Tsuru Afutu Brempong IV chaired the event. Local leaders praised MP Francis Xavier Sosu for his positive impact on the community.
The MJC also teaches entrepreneurship and digital skills to youth. This creates more opportunities for success in today’s world.
Osman Ayariga, CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA), praised the MP's commitment to youth empowerment. He pledged support for the initiative from the Authority.
Currently funded by the MP and some private donors, the project needs broader public support. It particularly requires startup equipment and tools for trainees after graduation.
For the 120 new apprentices, this matriculation was more than a ceremony. It marked a new chapter filled with hope and hard work toward success.
