The Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament has agreed to a request from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB). This request is to release two Members of Parliament (MPs) for investigations. The MPs are Mustapha Yussif and Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A Plus.
A letter was signed by the Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror. It was addressed to the Director General of the NIB. In this letter, the Speaker acknowledged constitutional limitations and security protocols but agreed to help.
“Parliament, in principle, agrees to the request,” stated the letter. The MPs must appear before NIB officials on Monday, April 7, 2025. The meeting is set for 10:00 AM at the Sir Emmanuel Charles Quist Conference Room in Parliament.
The Speaker advised that the MPs should bring their legal representatives. “The Hon. Members will be requested to have their lawyers present,” emphasized the letter.
