Tabitha Ayillah, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team, expressed her anger. She criticized Deputy Chief of Staff Stan Dogbe and Defense Minister Omane Boamah.
Ayillah noted that both officials were discussing football on social media. This happened while flooding affected many people in the country. She found their lack of empathy sad and shameful.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana, she asked, “Where is the empathy?” She emphasized that these leaders should care about Ghanaians' livelihoods.
Ayillah pointed out that Stan Dogbe leads the anti-flood committee set up by the President. She mentioned that while people struggled to find shelter, Dogbe and Boamah were focused on football.
She checked their social media for any statements of support but found none. Instead, they seemed more interested in sports than addressing urgent needs.
The Anti-Flood Taskforce was established by President Mahama to tackle flooding issues in Ghana. It is led by Stanislav Xoese Dogbe and includes several key members from various ministries.
The task force has conducted aerial surveys to assess flood-prone areas. They collected important data for future flood prevention efforts.
Locations surveyed included Weija, Sakumo Ramsar Site, and Tema Fishing Harbour.
In related news, Ella Esiman Nongo, MCE for Adentan Municipal Assembly, reported three fatalities due to recent floods in Accra. The deaths occurred in Lakeside, Nanakrom, and New Legon.
She stated that two victims were from Lakeside and one was a four-year-old girl from Nanakrom.
