Star witness corroborates Adu Boahene's statement

A prosecution witness in the trial of Kwabena Adu Boahene has provided key information. Boahene is the former Director of the National Signals Bureau. The witness, Edith Ruby Opokua Adumuah, is also the Bureau's Director of Finance.

In her statement from June 2, 2025, she confirmed she manages all chequebooks. Before any cheque payment, a request must come from the recipient unit. This request goes through the head of Administration for approval.

The Director of BNC, Kwabena Adu Boahene, manages the operational account. The National Security Coordinator supervises this process. Lawyers for Mr. Adu Boahene argue that their accounts are special operations accounts.

Ms. Opokua Adumuah stated that before signing a cheque, Mr. Adu Boahene would inform her first. She would then send it to him and the National Security Coordinator for signatures.

She also confirmed payments to ISC Holdings Limited for a cyber defense system. "I know of ISC Holdings Limited," she said in her statement. An invoice dated September 1, 2020, was presented to her by Mr. Adu Boahene.

Payments began on October 15, 2020, totaling $3,110,000 related to this invoice. She has copies of these documents and wishes to submit them as evidence.

The expenditures in question were detailed in a memo from May 7, 2025. This memo included special operations expenditure summaries and payments made to various entities.

Among these were allowances for Members of Parliament involved with the NSB Act in 2020. It also mentioned GH¢8.3 million allocated to an opposition party for communications equipment.

Additionally, GH¢5,135,000 was reportedly paid for high-end vehicles for a presidential aide. As we await the next court hearing, Ghanaians hope for a fair trial as guaranteed by the constitution.
