Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has urged NPP supporters not to lose faith after their electoral loss, assuring them of plans to reorganize and rebuild the party.
Speaking on April 4, 2025, during a visit by gospel musicians Great Ampong and Nicholas Omani Acheampong, he emphasized unity, prayer, and youth engagement as key to the party’s revival.
Citing biblical inspiration, he said God has not abandoned the NPP and called on members to hold onto hope. Afenyo-Markin admitted the 2024 defeat was tough but attributed it partly to internal mistakes and voter apathy.
He defended the NPP’s record on social interventions and criticized the NDC for unfulfilled promises.
Returning from a party retreat, he stressed that reconciliation and strategic rebranding would reposition the NPP for victory in 2028, declaring, “With prayer, new attitude, and divine help, we will return stronger.”
