The National Labour Commission (NLC) has summoned the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) and stakeholders to a meeting on November 20, 2024.
This follows TEWU’s threat to start an indefinite strike on November 18 if the government fails to address delays in implementing revised conditions of service for workers under the Ghana Education Service, Library Authority, Museums, and Public Universities.
The NLC has urged TEWU to suspend its planned action, citing legal requirements and a need for dialogue.
Employers, including the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, must submit updates on the matter by November 19.
The meeting aims to resolve the long-standing grievances and prevent disruptions in the education sector.
