Kwadwo Mpiani, a former Chief of Staff under President John Kufuor, spoke to the NPP. He believes the party chairman should lead the “Thank You Tour.”
Mpiani stated that Stephen Ntim should be the face of this tour. He emphasized that it should not be a candidate seeking to contest again.
He questioned the purpose of the NPP’s “Thank You Tour.” Mpiani asked, “What are we thanking Ghanaians for? For not voting for us?”
On JOYNEWS, he expressed his concerns about the tour. He said, “The whole exercise is misplaced. We performed miserably in this election.”
Mpiani suggested that instead of thanking people, they should understand what went wrong. He mentioned a committee was formed to investigate their electoral loss.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong has withdrawn from the Thank You Tour. This decision follows an incident involving a stabbing at Kwame Nkrumah University.
Agyapong joined Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for unity but feels unwelcome now. He stated, “For unity’s sake, I felt it was important to join Dr. Bawumia.”
He added that threats to his team prompted his withdrawal from the tour. Agyapong wants to protect his people and regroup later.
He cautioned against one-sided politics within the party. Agyapong urged NPP members to avoid divisive tactics for everyone's benefit.
