Kwame Owusu Danso is the 2024 Vice Presidential Candidate for the Movement for Change. He criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over recent drug trafficking allegations at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
In an interview on TV3, he accused the NPP of trying to regain relevance. He believes they are struggling after losing public trust.
The NPP claimed that two aircraft at KIA were carrying cocaine and large sums of money. Owusu Danso found it odd that they expect the government to provide evidence for their own claims.
He questioned, “How can you allege that two aircraft contained cocaine and money? Yet, you expect the government to prove your allegations?”
Owusu Danso called the NPP's actions hypocritical. He stated, “The hypocrisy must end; there’s no truth in what Rev Ntim Fordjour is doing.”
He warned political parties against damaging Ghana’s reputation for political gain. “You should not drag Ghana’s name through the mud,” he said.
He emphasized that all parties must work together to eliminate negative perceptions associated with politics.
