Former Information Minister Fatimatu Abubakar has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to avoid public accusations and divisive rhetoric as the party works to recover from its December 7 electoral loss.
Speaking on Asempa FM on January 24, 2025, she criticized the trend of senior party members engaging in public finger-pointing, warning that such actions deepen mistrust and disunity within the party.
Abubakar emphasized the need for members to focus on reflection, unity, and collective efforts to rebuild ahead of the 2028 elections.
She expressed confidence in a fact-finding committee, led by Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, to address the party’s challenges.
Urging calm, she stressed, “Heroes lead with courage, not blame,” and called for prioritizing the party's long-term success over personal frustrations.
