Stop this epileptic political strategy – Hamza to Bryan Acheampong

Hamza Suhuyini, a member of the NDC communication team, criticized Dr. Bryan Acheampong. Dr. Acheampong is an NPP MP for Abetifi. He announced the formation of an exploratory committee for his presidential bid.

Hamza called this move poorly timed and self-centered. He spoke on Good Morning Ghana with Annie Ampofo. He accused Dr. Acheampong of putting personal ambition above party interests.

“True NPP members should focus on rebuilding the party,” he said. “This is not the time for individual ambitions.” Hamza suggested that Dr. Acheampong could contribute to rebuilding efforts instead.

He questioned why a public statement was necessary for his intentions. “You can do internal research without a press release,” he noted.

Hamza believed Dr. Acheampong aimed to shape public perception rather than consult stakeholders genuinely. “A true political operative would research quietly before deciding to run,” he explained.

He warned NPP members to be cautious about Dr. Acheampong's leadership style. “His press release shows poor leadership,” he stated, urging caution among party supporters.

In response, Dr. Acheampong emphasized his loyalty to the NPP in his official statement. He acknowledged that the party is at a critical point requiring unity and commitment.

Dr. Acheampong highlighted his years of service as a grassroots organizer and Cabinet Minister within the NPP. The exploratory committee will complete its work and report back in four weeks.
