Passengers and traders in Dambai are urging the Volta River Authority (VRA) to promptly repair a faulty ferry that has left many stranded and disrupted business activities.

The ferry broke down on Sunday, February 16, 2025, around 9:00 AM, coinciding with a busy market day.

Charles Awuranyi, Assembly Member for Dambai Central, explained that this breakdown left numerous vehicles and passengers stranded on both sides of the Black Volta, affecting travel and commerce.

He stressed the need for urgent intervention by the VRA, especially as the region has been relying on just one ferry for months after the other was also put out of service.

Awuranyi called for a swift response to prevent further disruptions.
