Tensions escalated as KASS students retaliated by burning car tires Tensions escalated as KASS students retaliated by burning car tires

Students from Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) and Kumasi Anglican Senior High School (KASS) clashed on Thursday night, resulting in extensive property damage at both schools.

The violence erupted when KTI’s Principal, Gabriel Kingsford Osei, alleged that KASS students attacked KTI with stones and machetes, targeting the school’s billboard.

Tensions escalated as KASS students retaliated by burning car tires and destroying vehicles and structures on KTI's campus.

A tutor from KASS, Rev Father Kenneth Collins Owusu, speculated that the conflict stemmed from disputes during the ongoing inter-school athletics event.

The Ashanti Regional Education Directorate is working to resolve the issue, with police investigation ongoing. No arrests have been made.
