Students urged to embrace Entrepreneurial aspirations

**Professor Abotsi Encourages Entrepreneurial Aspirations in Students**

Professor Ernest Kofi Abotsi is the Dean of the UPSA Law School. He spoke about the importance of technical education for job opportunities. He urged students to embrace entrepreneurial goals.

Prof. Abotsi praised Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) for its growth. He delivered his speech during a public lecture and book launch last Friday. This event celebrated KsTU's 70th anniversary.

The theme was “Bridging the Skills Gap: Investing in Technical Education for Employment and Growth.” Prof. Abotsi noted that technical education was once undervalued. Now, it leads in creating solutions and driving progress.

He emphasized that today’s leaders are innovators, not just theorists. He encouraged KsTU to learn from its history and build on successes. He stated that technology, not law, shapes the future.

Prof. Abotsi commended KsTU for being forward-thinking. He remarked that many professions, including law, belong to the past. The historical book launched serves as a tool for self-reflection.

Vice Chancellor Professor Gabriel Dwomoh also spoke at the event. He highlighted 70 years of excellence since KsTU's founding in 1954. The university has become one of Ghana’s top technical institutions.

He acknowledged past leaders, educators, and students who contributed to this success. Prof. Dwomoh stressed that technical education is vital for national development today.

He mentioned KsTU's role in industrial transformation through innovative programs and partnerships. The university produces skilled graduates impacting various sectors in Ghana and beyond.

As part of their anniversary project, KsTU plans to build a modern hospital. This facility will serve staff, students, and local communities' healthcare needs.

It will also be a training center for health-related programs like nursing and medical technology. This initiative aligns with KsTU’s vision to expand academic offerings while aiding national healthcare delivery.

Prof. Dwomoh called for support from all stakeholders for this ambitious project. He emphasized that it is not just a university initiative but a national cause benefiting many lives.
