**Professor Abotsi Encourages Entrepreneurial Aspirations in Students**
Professor Ernest Kofi Abotsi is the Dean of the UPSA Law School. He spoke about the importance of technical education for job seekers. He urged students to embrace entrepreneurial goals.
Prof. Abotsi praised Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) for its growth. He delivered his speech during a public lecture and book launch last Friday. This event celebrated KsTU's 70th anniversary.
The theme was “Bridging the Skills Gap: Investing in Technical Education for Employment and Growth.” Prof. Abotsi noted that technical education was once undervalued. Now, it leads in creating solutions and driving progress.
He emphasized that today's leaders are not just theorists but innovators. He encouraged KsTU to learn from its history and build on successes. He warned that law alone cannot shape the future; technology must lead.
Prof. Abotsi commended KsTU for looking toward the future. He remarked that many professions, including law, belong to the past. The historical book launched serves as a tool for self-reflection.
**Vice Chancellor Highlights Achievements of KsTU**
Professor Gabriel Dwomoh is the Vice Chancellor of Kumasi Technical University. He reflected on 70 years of excellence since its founding in 1954. The university has grown into one of Ghana’s top technical institutions.
He acknowledged past leaders, educators, and students who contributed to this success. In today’s fast-paced world, technical education is vital for national development.
Prof. Dwomoh stated that KsTU plays a key role in industrial transformation through innovative programs and research initiatives. They produce skilled graduates who impact various sectors in Ghana and beyond.
As part of their 70th Anniversary Legacy Project, KsTU will build a modern hospital. This facility will serve staff, students, and local communities' healthcare needs.
It will also be a training center for health-related programs like pharmaceutical science and medical laboratory technology. This initiative aligns with KsTU’s vision to expand academic offerings while enhancing national healthcare delivery.
Prof. Dwomoh called for support from all stakeholders to make this project successful. He emphasized that this is not just a university initiative but a national cause benefiting many lives.
