Michael Osah Junior, a 42-year-old Banquet Supervisor, has been re-arrested. He allegedly stole beverages worth GH¢32,000 from Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel.
Osah first appeared in Circuit Court Two for stealing. This was contrary to Section 124(1) of the Criminal Offences Act 29/60. He jumped bail and went into hiding before being caught on May 5, 2025.
The alleged theft occurred on April 14, 2023. Osah was supervising a corporate event at the hotel’s ballroom.
According to Chief Inspector Daniel Danku, he abused his position. He requested various drinks for the event but diverted them instead.
The stolen items included:
- 24 bottles of Presuco wine
- 12 bottles of Venduwernay champagne
- 4 packets of mango juice
- 8 packets of Ceres guava juice
- 7 packets each of apple and cranberry juice
- 11 packets of Dano milk
He attempted to smuggle these items out in an Uber taxi. Hotel security intercepted him and handed him over to the police.
After investigations, Osah was charged and granted bail. However, he failed to appear in court for later proceedings.
Judge Samuel Bright Acquah granted him bail again for GH¢50,000 with two sureties. The case is adjourned to July 2, 2025 for further hearing and disclosure filing.
Stephen Morrison is the complainant in this case. He serves as the Assistant Security Manager at Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel.
