24-Hour Economy
Professor Isaac Boateng, Pro Vice Chancellor of AAMUSTED, has a challenge for the government. He urges them to support the private sector. This support is crucial for growing the 24-hour economic policy. It could help address youth unemployment in Ghana.
AAMUSTED aims to train students to create their own jobs. The government cannot employ every young graduate in the formal sector. Therefore, it is essential for students to become job creators.
Professor Boateng spoke at the opening of Adams Kitchen and Food Factory. This factory is the first food factory in Ghana, located at Kuffour Estate in Opokukrom. He noted that CEO Adams Alex Sparfford is an alumnus of AAMUSTED. His efforts align with the university's mission to support young entrepreneurs.
Mr. Sparfford thanked Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and other chiefs for their support. They provided land for setting up the factory. He promised to offer healthy foods made from natural spices.
The factory can employ about 200 people now. With government support, he hopes to hire more workers and reduce youth unemployment.
Mr. Emmanuel Opoku Anane represented Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene at the event. He praised Mr. Sparfford for providing nutritious meals to the public. This initiative aligns with government policies aimed at job creation through collaboration with the private sector.
He assured local youth that he supports innovative ideas that create jobs and reduce unemployment among them.
