The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing on an injunction application. This application challenges President John Dramani Mahama's procedure. The procedure could lead to Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo's removal.
The court will now hear the case on May 6. This follows a request from legal representatives to block the process.
Vincent Ekow Assafuah, MP for Tafo, filed a lawsuit on March 27, 2025. He sued the Attorney General over alleged constitutional breaches by the president. The president referred three petitions for the Chief Justice's removal to the Council of State without notifying her.
Wednesday's session featured several prominent legal figures. Among them were Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine and former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame.
