Supreme Court declares Agri-Cattle Lakeside Estate legal owner of Lakeside lands

The Supreme Court has confirmed Agri-Cattle Lakeside Estate Ltd as the legal owner of a 2,911.53-acre land in Katamanso, Greater Accra, following a unanimous ruling by a five-member panel led by Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

This verdict overturned a 2023 Court of Appeal decision that granted ownership to Tassah Tapha Tassah, who claimed a 2004 lease from the Kplen We Family of La.

The Court ruled that Tassah failed to perform adequate due diligence before acquiring the land, which has been held by Agri-Cattle Lakeside since 1974 under a Land Title Certificate issued in 1996.
