Supreme Court to hear NDC's challenge on High Court's EC ruling

Supreme Court of Ghana Supreme Court of Ghana

The Supreme Court will today, 23 January, hear a case filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) challenging a High Court ruling that instructed the Electoral Commission (EC) to finalize and declare parliamentary results in four constituencies.

The ruling, delivered by Justice Forson Baah Agyapong on 4 January, followed a mandamus application from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The EC has since re-collated results for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, and Techiman South, leaving Ablekuma North pending.

The NDC argues the decision should be overturned, citing concerns about its impact on the electoral process.

The Supreme Court's judgment is anticipated to carry significant political and legal implications.
