Supreme court adjourns Chief Justice injunction case to May 6

The Supreme Court has postponed a hearing about Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo. This is the second time this has happened.

Today, only four justices were present. A five-member panel was expected. Justice Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu announced the adjournment to May 6, 2025. She cited unavoidable circumstances for the delay.

Present in court were Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine and his deputy, Dr. Justice Srem Sai. Former Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame represented the applicant.

This case was first adjourned on April 9, 2025. The Attorney-General’s Office requested that postponement due to a state attorneys’ conference in Accra.
