Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), announced a planned demonstration. This protest is in response to the suspension of the Chief Justice.
Boakye believes this decision is politically motivated. He argues it threatens the country's democracy and should not be ignored.
In a social media post, he criticized President Mahama. He claims the president's actions fulfill a promise made to party supporters before the 2024 elections.
He stated, "WE MUST SPEAK OUT, PROTEST, AGITATE & DEMONSTRATE AGAINST MAHAMA'S EVIL AGENDA AGAINST THE JUDICIARY."
Boakye accused President Mahama of trying to remove the Chief Justice as part of a political agenda. He called this action a constitutional coup d'état that must be opposed by all Ghanaians.
He urged citizens to stand firm in support of the constitution and democracy. The time to act is now, he said.
