Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, has defended Rev. John Ntim Fordjour’s call for investigations into alleged suspicious flights that reportedly landed at Kotoka International Airport (KIA), carrying drugs and large sums of money.

Fordjour, who serves as the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, had earlier raised alarm over the two mysterious flights and urged the government to ensure transparency and accountability.

Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV on Wednesday, April 9, Oppong Nkrumah said Fordjour’s concerns were not politically motivated but rather a patriotic effort to safeguard Ghana’s security and international image.

“This was an invitation to the government to do the right thing,” Nkrumah remarked, adding that President Akufo-Addo initially took the concerns seriously and called for investigations.

He, however, criticised the follow-up response by the Minister for Government Communications, describing it as dismissive and unhelpful. “Why Ntim Fordjour came back was that a lot of the answers had gaps in them,” he explained.

Nkrumah insisted that government must provide a full and transparent account of the alleged incidents to avoid speculation and restore public trust.
