The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has criticized Rev. John Ntim Fordjour. He accused Fordjour of spreading falsehoods about suspicious aircraft at Kotoka International Airport.
In a Facebook post on April 4, Dr. Boamah urged Fordjour to “repent.” He called the claims baseless and politically motivated.
Rev. Ntim Fordjour had previously requested a security briefing on two aircraft. These were AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B. He alleged they carried cocaine and cash into the country.
His allegations led President John Dramani Mahama to order an investigation. However, the Government Communications Minister stated that Fordjour was invited to assist but did not attend.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Communications, also accused Fordjour of fabricating claims for political gain.
Fordjour rejected these accusations. He insisted no security agency has invited him for questioning and challenged the government to provide evidence.
Dr. Omane Boamah remained firm in his stance. He claimed Fordjour’s actions stem from “hatred for President Mahama’s administration.” He suggested that Fordjour seeks favor within his party.
“Rev. Ntim Fordjour must stop making reckless allegations,” he wrote. “You know you’ve lied! Video evidence has exposed your lies about the aircraft.”
