Security analyst Emmanuel Kutin has criticized former President John Dramani Mahama. He spoke about Mahama's directive to security agencies. This directive followed allegations from MP Rev. Ntim Fordjour. The allegations concerned suspected illicit activities at Kotoka International Airport.
In a Facebook post on April 1, 2025, Mahama urged security agencies to investigate. He mentioned claims that two aircraft transported drugs and laundered money into Ghana. However, on April 9, National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) operatives surrounded Fordjour’s residence in Accra. They attempted to arrest him but were stopped by Minority MPs and NPP executives.
These officials argued that the NIB lacked a valid arrest warrant. They also claimed the NIB did not follow proper legal procedures. Kutin appeared on Channel One TV’s The Big Issue on April 12. He questioned the appropriateness of Mahama's communication method for such a serious issue.
Kutin said, “The medium the President used was quite problematic.” He noted that using Facebook for this directive was concerning. He added that it was even posted on April 1, which raised doubts about its seriousness. Kutin recalled that Mahama's X account had been hacked recently as well.
