Suzzy Adwoa Pinamang is a second-year student at Adventist Senior High School. She was accidentally shot in the eye by a classmate. Suzzy has arrived in the United Kingdom for emergency medical treatment.
She landed in the UK on Saturday, May 10, 2025. A caregiver, who is her brother, accompanied her. Rafik Mahama, a special aide to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, also joined them. Mr. Mahama is covering all travel and medical costs.
Doctors at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Agarwal Eye Hospital recommended urgent care abroad. They confirmed that Suzzy had severe eye injuries requiring specialist attention.
Mr. Ibrahim Mahama's support has eased financial pressure on Suzzy’s family. Ghana's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, also helped with the process. He facilitated visa documentation and directed special assistance from the Ghana High Commission in the UK.
Ablakwa announced successful visa arrangements on his Facebook page on May 8, 2025. Suzzy’s surgery in the UK is expected to happen soon.
