An Accra Circuit Court, led by Her Ladyship Sedinam Awo Kwadam, has granted bail. Each of the four accused persons received bail set at thirteen million Ghana cedis (GHS13,000,000). They are on trial for allegedly trying to transport suspected cocaine at Kotoka International Airport.
The accused face charges of conspiracy and possession of narcotic drugs.
On April 23, 2025, officers at the Swissport Cargo Terminal conducted a routine check. They found three wooden boxes suspected of containing narcotics. Upon inspection, the boxes revealed hidden compartments.
Inside these compartments were 73 compressed slabs of suspected narcotics. A sample tested positive for cocaine. All four suspects were arrested that same day and taken to NACOC Headquarters.
The accused have denied any knowledge of the cocaine parcels.
Each must meet bail conditions that include four sureties. One surety must justify with property worth one million Ghana cedis. All sureties must be civil servants earning at least five thousand Ghana cedis monthly.
The court has prohibited the accused from obtaining new passports. NACOC officials will collect their biodata to flag them in passport offices nationwide.
The accused must submit their passports to the court registry immediately. They are also placed on a stop list at all exit points in the country.
They cannot leave without court permission and must report to NACOC twice a week.
