The Teachers and Educational Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress (TEWU-TUC) has launched a nationwide strike today, November 18, in response to the government's failure to resolve long-standing issues regarding their conditions of service.

TEWU-TUC has expressed frustration over delays in finalizing and implementing revised terms for workers in the Ghana Education Service, Ghana Library Authority, Museums and Monuments Board, and Public Technical and Traditional Universities.

Despite years of negotiations, their concerns remain unaddressed.

The National Labour Commission (NLC) has called for a meeting with TEWU-TUC and relevant stakeholders on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
