TEWU threatens to strike on Monday over delayed implementation of service condition

The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU)

The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) of the Trade Union Congress-Ghana has announced a possible indefinite strike starting November 18, 2024, over delays in finalizing Conditions of Service agreements for members within the Ghana Education Service, Ghana Library Authority, Museums and Monuments Board, and Public Universities.

TEWU expressed frustration, noting that negotiations have dragged on for over four years, leaving members, especially those handling new admissions, in uncertain work conditions.

The union stated that members’ patience is wearing thin and urged government agencies to act swiftly to avoid disruptions. TEWU appealed to stakeholders to resolve these long-standing issues to maintain stability across the nation’s educational institutions.
