Haruna Iddrisu’s nomination as Minister for Education by President John Dramani Mahama has drawn varied reactions from residents of Tamale South, his constituency.
While some praise the appointment, others believe his expertise would have been better suited for Finance, Defence, or Roads and Highways Ministries.
A resident expressed disappointment, suggesting Haruna Iddrisu could have advocated for Northerners’ inclusion in the military if assigned to the Defence Ministry.
However, NDC constituency leaders welcomed the nomination with joy, citing his distinguished political career and dedication.
Tamale South Constituency Secretary Seidu Abass Alhassan described the appointment as a source of pride, while Communication Officer Issak Abdul Fatau lauded Mr. Iddrisu’s potential to transform the Education Ministry.
With his experience across various portfolios, hopes are high for impactful leadership in education.
