Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer is the Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He has denied claims about President John Dramani Mahama receiving three luxury vehicles before his swearing-in.
These claims stem from a memo allegedly written by Kwabena Adu-Boahene. He is the former boss of the National Signals Bureau (NSB). The memo was addressed to the National Security Coordinator. It stated that GH¢5,135,000 was given to the President-elect's special aide for purchasing luxury cars.
The vehicles mentioned include a Nissan Patrol Platinum, a 2024 Nissan Patrol Titanium, and a 2022 Land Cruiser GXR. Dr. Tanko-Computer spoke on Eyewitness News with Umaru Sanda Amadu on May 9, 2025. He dismissed these allegations as fabrications by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He stated that such actions would not align with President Mahama's character. "I don’t know anything about this," he said. "How can that be possible? The President won’t stoop that low."
The NDC also denies receiving GH¢8 million from the National Signals Bureau.
