**Dansoman Circuit Court**
A 28-year-old teacher, Enoch Arthur, is accused of an inappropriate relationship with a Form 2 female student. This alleged relationship occurred in the computer laboratory and resulted in her pregnancy.
Arthur pleaded not guilty to defilement of a female under 16 years. He appeared before the Dansoman Circuit Court on March 21, 2025. The court was presided over by Her Honour Halimah El-Alawa Abdul-Baasit. Despite his plea, he was remanded into police custody until April 7.
The prosecution is led by Chief Inspector Portia Nuarko. They have seven days for cross-examination by Arthur's defense counsel.
**Case Details**
Chief Inspector Nuarko explained the case in court. The school proprietress arranged accommodation for the victim and her younger brother. This was due to their long commute from home to school.
Arthur teaches computing and career technology at the school. He lives in Awoshie Mangoasi. To prepare students for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), special classes were organized after school hours.
In December 2024, Arthur allegedly took advantage of the victim's vulnerability. He had unprotected sex with her during this time.
On March 11, 2025, after school, the victim’s younger brother saw them together in a classroom. He became suspicious and reported what he saw to the proprietress after being warned by Arthur not to tell anyone.
Following this report, Arthur was taken to Anyaa Police Station. A formal complaint was filed against him there. A medical form was issued for the victim's examination.
The medical report dated March 15, 2025 confirmed defilement and indicated that she is six weeks and two days pregnant. During investigations, Arthur admitted to taking advantage of the victim in the computer laboratory. He has since been charged and brought before the court.
