Communications Minister Sam George Nartey emphasized the importance of technology in Ghana's economy.
He spoke at a press briefing on April 9. He highlighted how technology positions Ghana in the global digital economy.
“The technology sector is critical for Ghana’s competitive edge,” he stated.
President John Dramani Mahama promised to launch the iMillion Coders programme. This initiative aims to train one million young Ghanaians in digital skills.
The Minister noted that this program empowers youth with essential tools. It prepares them for sectors like business processes and knowledge management.
“This programme will give young people skills to thrive digitally,” he explained.
His ministry is working quickly to implement the iMillion Coders programme.
“We are ensuring this vision becomes a reality for our youth,” he added.
The Ministry is mobilizing partners and resources for successful implementation.
He stressed collaboration as key to achieving the programme’s goals.
“Through partnerships, we aim to upskill our youth for future challenges,” he concluded.
