Tema Central NDC executives call for calm and unity over MCE nomination

The Tema Central branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) urges calm among residents. They ask political stakeholders to stay united during discussions about a new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tema Metro.

On Sunday, April 13, the Constituency Executive Committee released a statement. Chairman Benjamin Djakumah led this effort. He also chairs all NDC Chairmen across Tema East, Central, and West. The party emphasized the importance of calm and respect for due process.

“At this critical time in our democratic journey, we call on all members to remain calm,” the release stated. It urged supporters and residents to respect due process.

The group reminded everyone that appointing an MCE is the President's constitutional duty. They encouraged avoiding actions or statements that could cause division or unrest.

“We trust in the President's wisdom to appoint a competent leader,” they said. This leader should serve Tema with integrity and commitment to development.

The NDC executives pledged full support for whoever President John Mahama nominates. They highlighted peace and progress as priorities over individual interests.

“We, the people of Tema Central, will support any nominee of the President,” they concluded. This is in the interest of peace, unity, and progress.
