The Tema Traditional Council is unhappy with the government's nominations.
They are particularly concerned about the Chief Executives for Tema, Ashaiman, and Tema West.
None of the three nominated candidates are from the local community.
The Council believes this shows a lack of respect from President John Dramani Mahama.
Members have called the nominations a "slap in the face."
They warned they might take action if the issue isn't resolved.
At a press briefing, Nii Amarh Somponu expressed their frustration.
He said they cannot accept being excluded from leadership roles.
When asked about possible actions against the government, he replied cautiously.
Nii Amarh Somponu noted that they cannot overly intervene in political matters.
