Salam Mustapha is the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He has called for unity within the party. He urged members not to worsen current internal tensions. This follows issues from the ongoing "Thank You" tour.
Mustapha spoke to Channel One Newsroom on Saturday, May 3. He noted that disagreements are natural in any party. However, they must be handled carefully to avoid further divisions.
His comments come as calls grow for suspending the "Thank You" tour. This is due to internal conflicts, including Kennedy Agyapong's withdrawal. Agyapong is a former flagbearer aspirant.
“I ask that we do not deepen the cracks,” Mustapha said. “It’s okay to disagree, but we should mind our language.” He stressed maintaining decorum even amid differences.
Despite Agyapong's pull-out, Mustapha remains optimistic about the tour. He believes it will continue without disruption. The tour has been progressing steadily in Bono East and Savannah regions.
The NPP now faces a challenge: unifying its members. They must ensure the tour continues without further internal strife.
