‘Thank You’ Tour rebuilding party unity – Freddie Blay

Freddie Blay, former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is defending the party's 'Thank You' tour. He believes it is essential for rebuilding unity and energizing grassroots support after the 2024 elections.

Some party insiders worry that the tour, led by NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, may deepen divisions. However, Blay insists these engagements are necessary after a major electoral campaign.

In an interview on Channel One Newsroom on April 29, he explained that the tour goes beyond expressing gratitude. It aims to reconnect with supporters and maintain momentum.

"I find nothing wrong with that," Blay stated. "It energizes the base and encourages dialogue."

He rejected claims that this outreach should have happened before the elections. Instead, he emphasized that healing and cohesion are now priorities for the party.

"Anyone who says we should wait for elections is focused on elections," he said. "The main goal is to unite the party and energize our base."

Blay’s comments reflect ongoing discussions within the NPP about their future direction as they regroup for upcoming electoral challenges.
