President-elect John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his humility and commitment to service, emphasizing that power and its privileges do not sway him.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service at the Assemblies of God Church in Accra on Sunday, December 15, he reflected on the humbling experiences of his political career, especially after losing the 2016 elections.
Mahama humorously noted how “Christmas hampers stopped coming” during his time out of office, teaching him that power is temporary. He expressed gratitude to close friends, family, and church members who stood by him.
Acknowledging the trust Ghanaians have placed in him, Mahama promised to lead with humility and focus on unity and progress, urging citizens to collaborate in addressing the nation’s challenges.
