Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), spoke about the Oquaye Report. He called it "a clarion call to duty and transformation."
On Wednesday, April 23rd, he addressed party members at NPP headquarters in Accra. This was ahead of the party’s Thank You Tour. Dr. Bawumia highlighted the report's importance for the party's future direction.
He stated, “The Oquaye Report is not just a document. It is a call to action—an urgent reminder that we must pursue our democratic values with even greater resolve.”
The report reflects Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye’s political philosophy and vision. It serves as a guide for strengthening democracy and economic freedom in Ghana.
Dr. Bawumia urged all party members to engage with the report deeply. He encouraged them to apply its recommendations practically.
He emphasized that the report aligns with NPP’s commitment to good governance and national development. “This is not a document to be shelved,” he said.
“It is a working manual—one that speaks to our generation and the next.” The report provides insights on decentralization, youth empowerment, and private enterprise's role in growth.
Dr. Bawumia mentioned that parts of the report would be included in NPP’s 2024 manifesto. This aims to "bring its ideas to life."
