President John Dramani Mahama has addressed the military council of Ghana. He emphasized the impact of their decisions on the future of the armed forces.
During a swearing-in ceremony on March 24, he urged the council to prioritize the welfare of service members. These individuals risk their lives for the country.
"The decisions you make shape our armed forces' future," he stated. He called for wisdom, integrity, and commitment in their duties.
Mahama pointed out that security threats have evolved beyond traditional warfare. He mentioned terrorism, cybercrime, political instability, and climate-related challenges.
He stressed that Ghana's armed forces must be adaptable and ready for any situation. "Our armed forces must remain prepared to respond effectively," he said.
The President also highlighted the need for ongoing investment in military readiness. He noted that supporting personnel is crucial for success.
Success depends not only on tactical capabilities but also on care for service members. Mahama concluded by reaffirming his commitment to their well-being.
