The demons in NPP must be removed from leadership positions: Frimpong-Boateng

Former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has criticized former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's administration. He called it deeply disappointing and dismissive of valuable advice.

The renowned heart surgeon said his suggestions were ignored. He believes this led to significant setbacks for the nation. "Akufo-Addo turned a deaf ear to my advice," he stated. "These ideas could have improved our country's fortunes."

He expressed disappointment in the governance style of Akufo-Addo. Many capable people within the NPP were sidelined, he noted. They could have performed better for the country.

Prof. Frimpong-Boateng emphasized that good governance is “common sense minus corruption.” He highlighted the need for a strong human resource base to boost exports and economic growth.

He also criticized NPP leadership, urging all party executives to resign after their "unprecedented defeat" in the 2024 elections. “All executives must resign for leading the party to this defeat,” he warned.

“If we don’t remove the demons in NPP leadership, the party will continue to suffer,” he added during an interview on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.
