The next knock may not be gentle it will land like a sledgehammer – Thaddeus Sory warns Dame

Thaddeus Sory, a lawyer for one of the petitioners, has issued a warning. He is seeking the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo. His warning is directed at former Attorney General Godfred Dame.

Sory stated that his next action will be forceful. He warned Dame to stop throwing tantrums. If this behavior continues, he promised a stronger response.

Dame recently accused the NDC government of politicizing the removal process. He cited Sory and other lawyers as evidence of NDC bias. On JOY FM, he said the NDC government is responsible for politicizing this process.

Sory responded by calling Dame a "cry baby." He suggested that each time Dame ignores lessons from previous warnings, the next response must be harder.

In a Facebook post on May 23, 2025, Sory refuted Dame’s claims. He pointed out that Dame was appointed Deputy Attorney-General by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Sory questioned how Dame could accuse him of bias when he represented clients long before the Chief Justice's elevation.

Sory also challenged Dame's legal abilities since becoming Attorney-General. He criticized him for clinging to a narrow loss as a moral victory.

He concluded with another warning: “Stop the tantrums.” The next response may not be gentle; it will hit hard like a sledgehammer.
