Mahama Ayariga, the MP for Bawku Central, condemned the violence in Bawku.
He noted that the peace process is progressing slowly. However, this does not justify taking the law into one's own hands.
Ayariga urged locals to stay committed to the peace efforts. These efforts are led by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and others.
He criticized those trying to exploit the conflict for political gain. Ayariga stated he will not be distracted by smear campaigns against him or his party.
