Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armarh-Kofi Buah, has called for reform at the Lands Commission. He urged the institution to address public perceptions of corruption and inefficiency.
“The perception is that the Lands Commission is one of the most corrupt institutions in Ghana,” he said during a visit. “It’s time to change that narrative. Ghanaians expect better.”
His comments come as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) plans significant reforms in the public sector.
“This is not about politics,” Buah emphasized. “The people have given the NDC a super majority to reset this country. We are not here to witch-hunt anyone. Elections are over— it’s time to build Ghana together.”
Buah highlighted that restoring public trust is essential for effective land administration. He stated that transforming the Lands Commission into a model of excellence must be a priority.
“We must take hard steps now to achieve this,” he said, signaling a new era of accountability and public service.
