The Africa Center for Security and Counterterrorism (ACSC) has sharply criticized the wrongful arrest of three siblings in Kumasi, accusing the police of unprofessionalism and calling for immediate reforms.
According to ACSC, the police violated due process by arresting the young men without probable cause while pursuing a murder suspect.
Two brothers lost their jobs, and their mother had to intervene for their release.
ACSC demanded an apology from the police and disciplinary action against the officers involved.
The group emphasized the need for systemic reforms to prevent such incidents, urging the Inspector-General of Police to ensure accountability and uphold citizens' rights, warning of a growing crisis in public trust towards law enforcement.
