Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine has rejected claims that National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) officers stole GH₵10,000 during a search of former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Ernest Addison’s residence.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, March 24, Dr. Ayine described the allegation as an "insult" and insisted the search was lawful, conducted with a valid warrant. He criticized Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin for allegedly attempting to discredit law enforcement.

"There was no raid on his house, and nothing illegal or unconstitutional was done. Claims that officers stole money are completely false," he stated.

The Minority in Parliament had earlier accused security operatives of theft and misconduct during the search.

In response, the AG warned against using parliamentary immunity to make unfounded accusations and assured that all investigations remain within legal bounds.
