The Third Force Alliance is a coalition of five political parties. They have urged political actors to avoid politicizing the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo. They want the rule of law to prevail.
This statement follows a recent demonstration by some political parties. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) led this protest against Justice Torkornoo's suspension. President John Dramani Mahama suspended her after consulting the Council of State.
The Third Force Alliance includes the Convention People’s Party (CPP), All People’s Congress (APC), Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), People’s National Convention (PNC), and Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP).
Mr. Awudu Ishaq, General Secretary of the PNC, expressed surprise at the NPP's actions. He found it puzzling that they would lead a demonstration against Justice Torkornoo's suspension by President Mahama.
