Akosua Manu, former Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority, doubts the integrity of a probe ordered by President John Dramani Mahama. This investigation concerns recent allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering at Kotoka International Airport.
Manu expressed her skepticism on Breakfast Daily, a show on Channel One News. She believes the investigation may not be impartial. She pointed to misleading narratives from the President’s communications team as evidence.
“I don’t even trust the probe that the President is asking for,” she said. Manu noted that the presidential spokesperson has already implicated the matter. She argued that there was a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.
Manu accused the spokesperson of lying about various facts related to the incident. “He told barefaced lies about maintenance, aircraft details, and routes,” she stated. She questioned how he obtained such information.
Due to these concerns, Manu is calling for an independent approach. “I am advocating for a bipartisan committee to investigate this matter,” she said.
