Ernest Owusu Bempah is the Deputy Director of Communications for the NPP. He commented on the controversy surrounding Sammy Gyamfi, the acting CEO of Goldbod.
Bempah said that the criticism about Gyamfi gifting money to Agradaa is baseless. He believes no one has the moral right to attack Gyamfi. According to him, Gyamfi has not stolen any money.
Sammy Gyamfi faced scrutiny after a video showed him giving cash to Nana Agradaa. In an interview on NET 2 TV, Bempah stated that this noise is "dead on arrival." He insisted that nobody can attack Gyamfi over this issue.
Bempah challenged anyone with evidence of theft by Gyamfi to come forward. He questioned if it was wrong for a young man to have $10,000. He urged people not to attack Gyamfi and emphasized supporting young achievers.
He also mentioned that if there were a scandal at Goldbod, it would be different. Bempah criticized jealousy in politics and defended Gyamfi's actions as youthful exuberance. He noted that calls for dismissal are misplaced.
Reports indicate that Sammy Gyamfi met with the Chief of Staff after being summoned. This was due to questions raised about his cash gift to Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, known as Nana Agradaa.
